Winch tow road candidates — Rapla, Viljandi, Pärnu (E), Valga, Võru (sanity check)

Methodology

Phases 2–4. Source: Maa-amet ETAK. Filters: rural classes (Muu tee, Kõrvalmaantee; tähtsus_t = Täitmata), ≥ 2 km, straight (per-step ≤ 70°, cumulative ≤ 90°), south of 58.99°N, no power-line / pipeline / transformer crossing. ⚠ markers flag spot obstacles (CHM ≥ 8 m within 5 m of road) — warnings only, not vetoes; verify on Street View. Right-click any spot on the map to send feedback (e.g. a missed cable, a new candidate suggestion). Side classification at 30 m / 100 m offset bands using a layered obstacle stack: ETAK forest polygons + ETAK tree-row hedgerows (3 m buffered) + Maa-amet 4 m CHM canopy (height ≥ 5 m). Forest-tunnel sub-sections are trimmed by walking each candidate in 100 m steps and dropping segments where the layered obstacle covers ≥ 50 % of both 100 m strips locally — the wider band reflects pilot drift-into-forest distance during a tow, not just tow-line snag distance. Click a segment to see usable wind sectors as a green fan.
